Kasbah des Oudayas à Rabat
The house, a haven of peace and tranquillity, is all the more attractive because it is so easy to visit - on foot - the varied and interesting places in the immediate neighbourhood. There are the lime-washed houses, shining white, heightened with all shades of blue.
Only a few minutes away, there is a Moorish café with multicoloured mosaics and blue tables, where there is a charming conviviality, along with mint tea and delicious Moroccan pastries. A few steps more, and there is the Andalusian garden surrounded by walls, where one can discover the museum with its remarkable collections.
A little further on, there are is the Consuls street, whose shops offer Moroccan handicrafts. Back to the casbah, one finds again the main street, joyful, full of liveliness, with its friendly inhabitants and young people coming back from the beach.
Since the ocean is there, always there, its waves, breaking unceasingly against the ramparts, give a rythm to life in the casbah and add a peaceful charm to that outstanding place.
